Main Location: La Spezia, Italy
Smartgyro S.r.l. is looking for a motivated and hands-on technician to join our Service team. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing technical support for our gyroscopic stabilizers installed on yachts and motorboats. Your work will include both field service around the world and mechanical/electrical assembly at our headquarters in La Spezia.
Smartgyro is a company specialized in stabilization systems, committed to enhancing the entire boating experience through its full range of advanced gyroscopic stabilizers. Founded in 2014 and based in La Spezia, Smartgyro has a global presence supported by strategic partner YANMAR.
Main Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of gyroscopic stabilizers onboard boats.
- On-site technical support at shipyards and to end customers worldwide.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Collaborating with the technical department to provide product feedback and support continuous improvement.
- Compiling service reports and functional test documentation.
When Not Traveling
- Mechanical and electrical assembly at the La Spezia facility, following technical drawings and company procedures.
- Performing mechanical and electrical tests on machines and sub-assemblies.
- Reporting defects, anomalies, and material shortages.
- Maintaining the workstation in accordance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in service operations onboard yachts or motorboats.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Valid passport.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
- Basic English proficiency (mandatory).
- Advanced English skills (considered a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and adaptability.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
